UNITED FOR A GOOD CAUSE Inc., a local non-profit organization, invites area 7th – 12th Grade students in public, private, parochial and/or home-schooled, regardless of race, ethnicity, or creed, to participate!

The conference will be held at Striving For Perfection Ministries on Saturday, 25 October 2014, 9am – 1pm, 24 Bass Ave SW, Fort Walton Beach. We thank Pastor Larry N. Boldin and his staff for the tremendous support to this event.

Attendees may qualify for community service points by organizing a toiletries collection drive at your school and/or volunteering the day of the conference.

Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Paul Hsu, an engineer, entrepreneur, presidential appointee, and author residing in Fort Walton Beach. Dr. Hsu’s book, “Guardians of the Dream, The Enduring Legacy of America’s Immigrants” was recently released to high acclaim. He is also a Harvard University Senior Fellow on Asian Studies. www.guardiansofthedream.com

The first 25 students that register and attend the event will receive a FREE signed copy of Dr. Hsu’s book.

The conference is this year’s edition of United for A Good Cause Inc.’s annual leadership programs aimed at our region’s youth. Last year, our High School Leadership Conference was attended by 65 students from throughout the Emerald Coast and over 20 local and national level speakers participated.

Other speakers this year include: Gary Westfal, an Amazon #1 best-selling novelist and author of “The Dream Operative” and “Key Horizon”; Mrs. Barbara Britt, Motivational Speaker/Trainer and Educational Director for the Greater FWB Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA); Dr. joyce gillie gossom, philanthropist/academic/entrepreneur; Brandi Crews, a Senior at the University of West Florida; Ryan Kochan, a high school senior and winner of the inaugural YEA class; plus Summer Allen, the 15 year old Founder/Director of Destin Nation Mission.

Light appetizers, soft drinks and water will be provided and a door prize giveaway will take place. Sponsorships and donations from businesses and individuals are welcomed.
