New Mural at Destin Commons

Local artists Andrew Wargo and Keith Jette just completed their original street mural art at Destin Commons on the side wall of Build-A-Bear. This is the third mural in a series of seven murals that will line various walls at the outdoor lifestyle center.

Wargo and Jette’s work is entitled ‘Tropical Vibes’, in a vibrantly colored theme of large flamingo birds wading in water using a mix of air brush and traditional brush painting.  “I like to use a lot of color and expression when I paint my abstracts,” commented Andrew Wargo.

Andrew Wargo is a primarily self-taught artist, originally from Orlando, but now based in Fort Walton Beach. Wargo began his artistic endeavors at a young age and later supplemented his journey with formal art classes. Drawing upon inspiration from his surroundings, Andrew Wargo seeks to immerse himself in the local art community. He has been a juried artist showing in the Mattie Kelly Art Foundation’s Destin Festival of the Arts over the years. His artwork and background information is on www.andrewwargoart.com.

Keith Jette is the owner of Wicked Paint in Ft. Walton Beach, a paint shop for motorcycles and hot rods. His unique custom artwork ranges from automotive, to canvas and tattoo work. Last year, based on his artistic talents, Jette was featured on the national TV show, Skin Wars. The show reached out to Jette after being impressed with his artwork on Instagram. More information on Jette can be found at www.facebook.com/Wickedpaintfwb/.

The murals have been well-received at Destin Commons, making perfect photo backdrops for both locals and Destin’s many tourist visitors. Currently, Los Angeles artists Dabs Myla are busy painting their artwork in four postcard formats on the paseo walls at the South end of the center between Guess and Foot Locker.

Northwest Florida’s award-winning premier outdoor lifestyle center, Destin Commons is located at the corner of Highway 98 and the Mid Bay Bridge Road. Visit www.DestinCommons.com, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more information.
