Walton County Fair officials have finalized plans for the 2016 Walton County Fair scheduled for Monday, October 3 through Saturday, October 8. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Through the Roof.”
“Families will certainly be celebrating this year’s fair through the rides,” says Fair Manager Randall Infinger, “but EVERYONE is going to celebrate this year ‘through the roof’ – the new roof, that is.” Infinger says the Fair Building’s roof has been redesigned and replaced, and new air conditioning has been added to the main part of the building where the stage is located. A new drop-down ceiling makes the facility more welcoming, and added insulation throughout the building provides a better appearance, acoustics and more manageable temperature control. Association leaders have also added more stalls in the bathrooms. “We are grateful for the Florida Department of Agriculture’s generous grant of $750,000 which has made these renovations possible,” says Infinger.
“This is one of the last fairs in the state that keeps the focus on the celebration of the local harvest and livestock shows, just like years gone by,” says Infinger. “While the rides in the fairway will be exciting for all members of the family as in past years, the improvements to the Fair Building will make the entertainment inside even more comfortable and enjoyable than ever.”
Walton County Fair hours are Monday October 3 through Friday, October 7, 5pm – 9pm (Midway runs later), and Saturday, October 8 from Noon until 9pm (Midway runs later). Adults $5, children (ages 6-12) $3, ages 5 and under free. Armbands for the rides available for $18 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and for $15 on Tuesday and Thursday.
