On Saturday, October 10, Connecting Kids hosted their first cornhole tournament at Twin Oaks Park in Niceville to raise money for the organization’s 2016 Impact Goals.  Abby Gunter, Selah Walker and Logan Medlock threw out the inaugural toss for the event. 18 teams battled it out head to head in a three-game guarantee tournament that lasted 4 hours.  Food, beverage and snacks were provided for all entrants by generous volunteers and Hurricane’s Grill. Jim Baughman and Linda Griffith were the undefeated champs, taking home a prize package worth $300, each receiving four Mullet Festival Tickets, a Yeti tumbler, a $50 gift card to Boshamps and passes to the Track in Destin. Second place team was Allen Bradley and JJ Lule, who each took home a $25 gift card to Joey’s Grill and $25 gift certificate to the French Quarter Grill. Kids enjoyed facepainting by Gateway Academy, bounce house and crafts.  A set of cornhole boards and one month membership to Bluewater Fitness were raffled through Miami/FSU football squares and won by Rob Hall. Major sponsors of the event include What’s Up Dog Obedience, Sanctuary Friends Network, Hurricane’s Grill, Spacewalk, Over the Edge Graphics, Fort Walton Beach Medical/Twin Cities Hospital, and Fitness Heroics.  Big thank you to all of our sponsors who supported this event.
