Talk about the coolest place in every way offering something for everyone… just ask any of the hundreds of children cooling off in Destin Commons’ 49-head interactive pop fountain in Center Plaza, having fun at the Pirates Cove play area, or taking a ride on the miniature train through the center on any given summer day. Just ask the ladies who can shop till they drop at any of the 90 stores at Destin Commons. Just ask any of the guys who can spend a lot of time at Destin Commons perusing Bass Pro Shops or bowling at the new aquatic-themed Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill. Just ask any of the families looking to beat the heat and catch the latest flick in AMC Destin 14-screen stadium style movie theatre.
Now celebrating 10 years of operation, Destin Commons was the first open-air lifestyle center in the region to offer shopping, dining, entertainment and Class A office space. The 56-acre architecturally-unique center saw hundreds of thousands of people flocking to the center to check it out. The center quickly became known for its many public signature entertainment events and won the hearts of area charities by donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to non-profit organizations through its “Coins For A Cause” parking meter program.
By 2013, the success of the center enabled Turnberry Associates to break ground on a new 100,000-square-foot expansion phase that opened this summer. There are 22 new retail and restaurant spaces in the expansion.
“We’re proud to bring first-to-market stores H&M, Boston Proper and Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill,” commented Destin Commons’ general manager Bob Perry. “In addition to the new retail stores in the new expansion, there are six new restaurants, many of which feature outdoor patio seating and service.”
The award-winning Destin Commons continues to set the standard as Northwest Florida’s coolest premier open-air lifestyle center.
Cool Factors: Specialty stores and restaurants, interactive water fountain, children’s play area, beat-the-heat state-of-the-art theatre, something for everyone
